Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday participated in the grand event commemorating 150 years of the National Song ‘Vande Mataram’ in Delhi. He released a commemorative Stamp and Coin, marking the formal launch of a year-long nationwide commemoration from November 7, 2025 to November 7, 2026. He also witnssesed the ‘Vande Mataram, Naad ekam, Roopam anek’, where the National Song was being performed in Hindustani and Karnataka singing styles by various renowned national artists.

PM Modi says the main emotion is Bharat, Maa Bharati…

Marking a historic milestone, PM Modi addressed the event, asserting that the event will generate new energy among crores of Indians. He extended congratulations to the countrymen on the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram. “Today, November 7, is a historic day. We are having a grand celebration of 150 years of the creation of Vande Mataram… This event will generate new energy among crores of Indians… My greeting to every citizen on the 150th anniversary of Vande Mataram,” PM Modi said.

PM Modi emphasised the deeper sentiment behind the song, noting, “The main emotion of ‘Vande Mataram’ is Bharat, Maa Bharati. India, as a nation, emerged as a gem that endured every blow of the past and, through cooperation, achieved immortality.” His address highlighted the resilience, unity, and enduring spirit of the country, underscoring how the song continues to inspire generations and evokes a sense of pride and patriotism among citizens.

“The main emotion of ‘Vande Mataram’ is Bharat, Maa Bharati… Bharat ek rashtra ke roop mein wo kundan ban kar ubhra jo ateet ki har chot sehta raha aur sehkar bhi amaratva ko prapt kar gaya. (India as a nation emerged as a gem that endured every blow of the past and through cooperation also achieved immortality),” PM Modi added.
