12 Public Holidays Coming In August! Check Them Out Before Making Plans

Several important festivals in August will increase demand for public transportation, leading to heightened activity. This month is the festival of Independence Day, Raksha Bandhan or the bond of protection, and Janmashtami, or the birthday of Lord Krishna. Also, five Saturdays and four Sundays are incorporated into the count of the holiday to have institutions that operate under a five-day working week. Thus freeing August workers a total of 12 holidays. Banks and other markets are shut during Independence Day while government administrative offices have flag hosting as part of their working day. They also hoist flag in various school compounds every morning.

This year, 15th of August lies on Thursday. This day both commercial buildings and stores are locked but flags are flown in all the establishments. Federal, state, and other organizations conduct flag-raising activities, pausing normal societal activities.

Also, Raksha Bandhan the festivity that symbolizes the bond of siblings is on the 19th of August and people celebrate this festivity with much passion. It is a public holiday in most parts of the world specifically on the eleventh of November effective every year. Continuing, Janmashtami is celebrated on 26 August and the same day is considered a public holiday in Indonesia. Janmashtami falls on Tuesday.

Cultural Celebrations and Rest

August is also endowed with five Saturdays and four Sundays, which makes extra holidays for institutions with a five-day working week. Thanks to a high number of celebrations, it is possible to have a rest, join the family’s events, and to let one’s tears roll amid the colorful Indian go round. Every event that takes place in August creates awareness of cultural relations and fosters the culture of preserving the history of the country.
