Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy  stated that the “right moment” has arrived to push towards ending the war with Russia. In his conversation with French President Emmanuel Macron, Zelenskyy emphasised the need to intensify diplomatic efforts to end the ongoing war with Russia.

In a post on X, Zelenskyy shared that he had spoken with French President Macron about the latest developments and ongoing diplomatic efforts aimed at securing peace. He expressed gratitude for France’s continued support while confirming that both leaders plan to meet in the near future for further discussions.

Zelenskyy Urges Diplomatic Push, Thanks French President

“I spoke with President of France @EmmanuelMacron. Now is the right moment to push the situation toward ending the war, and the most important thing is to fully seize every opportunity and apply the right kind of pressure on Russia,” Zelenskyy wrote on X.

Calling on allies to intensify diplomatic efforts, Zelenskyy highlighted that pressuring the one who started the war is the key ending things. “Pressuring the one who started the war is the key to a denouement. Emmanuel and I discussed all the current diplomatic aspects and our recent contacts with partners. I am grateful for the support. We agreed to meet in the near future,” he added.

Ready to meet Putin, Says Zelenskyy

Earlier on Sunday, Zelenskyy asserted that he is ready to meet Russian President Vladimir Putin during the upcoming summit in Budapest. In this regard, he appealed to US President Donald Trump to increase pressure on the Russian leader. In an exclusive interview with NBC News, Zelenskyy asserted that the US president needed to exert even greater pressure on Putin than he had during his recent success in securing a ceasefire with Hamas.

“Putin is something similar but stronger than Hamas,” Zelenskyy said, adding, “And that’s why more pressure” is needed, noting the war’s larger scale and Russia’s position as the world’s second-largest Army.
