“Your mother means our mother”: Mamata Banerjee tells PM Modi as he attends WB events following Heeraba’s demise

As the nation praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s tribute to ‘Karmayogi’ mother, Heeraben, when he got back to work hours after cremating her, West Bengal Chief Minister, Mamata Banerjee also condoled her death, suggested him to take rest, and thanked him for joining.
“On behalf of the people of West Bengal, I thank you so much for giving us this opportunity. It’s a sad day for you. Your mother means our mother also. May god give you the strength to continue your work, please take some rest,” Banerjee told a grief-stricken PM Modi.
PM Modi flagged off the ambitious Vande Bharat train connecting New Jalpaiguri and Howrah. He also inaugurated several key developmental projects, including railway projects in West Bengal.
“Today it’s a sad day and a great loss to you. I pray to God, may God give you strength. I convey my gratitude to you that you were supposed to come to West Bengal but because of the demise of your mother you couldn’t come but joined virtually,” Banerjee said during the event.
Later on in the day, the Prime Minister is likely to preside over the second meeting of the National Ganga Council, which will be attended by the Chief Ministers of Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal as well as the Union Minister for Jal Shakti and other Union Ministers who are members of the council.
The National Ganga Council has been entrusted with the general management of the Ganga River and its tributaries’ revitalization and prevention of pollution.
