All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) Asaduddin Owaisi hit out at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) led government in Assam and said that they only want to demolish madrasas. He also claimed that the state government is biased against Muslims.
Hitting out at the Himanta Biswa Sarma government, the AIMIM chief said that the state government has not opened many schools in the last six years and it is a failure on their part.
“You will only demolish Madrassas. You are sending them to jail the who will take care of their families. Will the state ensure their well-being,” Owaisi said.
His remark comes as the Assam CM recently said that the state government wants to reduce the number of madrasas. The government has decided to merge small madrasas that are generally used to spread radicalism with larger ones to reduce the threat, Director General of Police Bhaskar Jyoti Mahanta said.
Further, Owaisi asked whether the state has thought about the future of the girls and urged the Assam government to open new schools. He also claimed that the government in Assam is biased against Muslims.
Asaduddin Owaisi also said that Opposition is not raising voice as the Parliament is not going on. If Parliament doesn’t run then BJP government will get benefitted. “We can’t expose BJP if parliament doesn’t function,” Owaisi said.
Speaking about the Babri masjid demolition case, Owaisi said that the Supreme Court said it’s unlawful act and gave a confusing judgement acquitting the accused and the Modi government didn’t go for appeal.
“In 1992 Babri masjid was demolished. DM has helped the people to demolish the masjid. The Assam CM is lying about the temple getting demolished. Assam CM has the habit of lying,” Owaisi said.
