WPL 2023: Prateek Kuhad enthralls RCB women’s team as Smriti Mandhana-led side enjoys fun musical evening

Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) finally notched up their first win of the inaugural edition of the Women’s Premier League (WPL) as they beat the UP Warriorz by 5 wickets riding on a terrific all-rounder bowling performance and young Indian batter Kanika Ahuja’s explosive 46 with the bat. RCB kept their hopes of qualifying for the playoffs alive but will have to keep winning and also hope that other results go their way. After their first win, the mood in the RCB camp was relaxed and the franchise held a Praatteek Kuhad concert as the team enjoyed the two days off before their next game.
Kuhad, who is a rage amongst the younger generation, entertained and enthralled the Smriti Mandhana-led side in Mumbai. Kuhad sang some of his most popular songs ‘Kasoor’, ‘Kho Gaye Hum Kahan‘, ‘Cold/Mess‘ and ‘Dil Beparwah‘. While Mandhana preferred the likes of Kasoor and Kho Gaye Hum Kahan, which were popular songs among Indian players as they could sing along, the overseas players Ellyse Perry and Heather Knight became fans of Cold/Mess.
Mandhana, Knight and Perry reckoned that it was a fun evening for all the girls as they enjoyed having Kuhad sing for them and the team had a relaxed environment as they get ready for their next challenge.
Getting a win on the board was just the first step and now the real challenge starts for RCB as they take on Gujarat Giants in their next match at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai on Saturday, March 18. Giants are coming off a shock win against Delhi Capitals as their spin trio of captain Sneh Rana, Ash Gardner and Tanuja Kanwar triggered a monumental collapse for the Meg Lanning-led side, bowling them out for just 136.
There are no easy games in the WPL, however, RCB would believe that they can get the results in their favour as they have a strong side and the win a couple of nights ago would instill that confidence even more.
