‘Worship any god but…’: MP minister Narottam Mishra on SRK’s Vaishno Devi visit, Aamir Khan’s Kalash puja

Madhya Pradesh Home Minister Narottam Mishra recently reacted to Bollywood actors Shah Rukh Khan’s Vaishno Devi and Aamir Khan performing kalash Puja at his new office, saying that “the society is now aware…”
Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan’s visit to Vaishno Devi temple grabbed all eyeballs with fans sharing pictures and videos on social media. Shah Rukh Khan visited the shrine in Jammu and Kashmir with his ‘Pathaan’ director Siddharth Anand to seek blessings prior the release of their first song ‘Besharam Rang’.
Similarly, photos of Aamir Khan’s kalash puja at new office also went viral last week. He performed puja as per Hindu rituals at his office along with his former wife and filmmaker Kiran Rao.
Reacting to the same, the minister known for his boycott calls against celebrities said that everyone has the right to worship according to their belief.
“The society is now aware. If they have now understood this, it’s good. Everyone has the right to worship according to their belief. One can worship any god but just don’t hurt the faith of others. That’s it,” he said.
The latest statement comes just months after Narottam Mishra objected to a bank advertisement featuring Aamir Khan and Kiara Advani as a newlywed couple. The ad showed the couple altering the tradition of the bride leaving her home as the groom came to live at the bride’s house and there was no tearful bidaai.
Narottam Mishra said that such things about Indian tradition, customs and deities keep coming especially from Aamir Khan. “I believe he is not allowed to hurt anyone’s sentiments,” Mishra said.
