The ‘Text detection’ function on iOS, which enables users to pull text directly out of an image, is being widely rolled out by Meta-owned messaging service WhatsApp.
With the installation of the most recent WhatsApp for iOS 23.5.77 update, the US-based firm is distributing this feature to all users, according to WABetaInfo.
Users will notice a new button that allows them to copy text from an image when they open one that contains text. This feature is incompatible with the see once photos due to privacy concerns.
It was announced last month that the messaging app would be releasing a sticker creation feature for iOS that would let users turn photographs into stickers.
Earlier, WhatsApp also rolled out the iOS feature called “voice status updates,” which allows users to record a voice memo and publish it through Status.
Users can forward voice notes from their chats to status, and voice notes can be recorded for a maximum of 30 seconds.
