Chris Gayle seemingly bid adieu to international cricket after being dismissed by Pat Cumins during the ongoing T20 World Cup fixture against Australia. While nothing has been confirmed so far, Gayle dropped a big hint of quitting top-flight cricket as he raised his bat towards the fans and clearly hinted at retiring. He was also seen distributing his gloves to fans in the stands.

While there is still suspense over Gyale’s retirement, Dwayne Bravo has confirmed that he will quit international cricket after today’s fixture. This is the 2nd time when Bravo has retired from international cricket.
A two-time T20 World Cup-winning player, Gayle has 1899 runs in 79 T20Is. He averaged 28.11 and struck at 137.31. Gayle’s tally includes 2 centuries and 14 half-centuries. He also scalped 19 wickets in the shortest format. A regular opener, Gayle often batted at number 3 in the lead up to the T20 World Cup 2021.
Often hailed as the Universe Boss, Gayle is regarded as one of the best batsmen of the shortest format. With 14306 runs in 452 matches, Gayle tops run-scoring charts. No other batsman has scored more than 12000 runs. While he isn’t expected to play for West Indies again, he looks set to play overseas leagues.
