The final match of the FIFA World Cup 2022 will take place on Sunday, December 18. In the summit clash, two-time World Cup winners Argentina will face defending champions France. This match will give Lionel Messi a final chance to fulfil his dream of winning a FIFA World Cup title and is expected to be a nail-biting contest as France is also a very strong team and capable of winning the title.
The high-voltage clash at the Lusail Iconic Stadium is the talk of the town at the moment, and so stand-in Indian men’s cricket team skipper KL Rahul was also asked about the same when he attended the post-match press conference on Sunday (December 18), after India registered a 188-run win over Bangladesh in the first Test of a two-match series.
India got the better of Bangladesh in the opening Test of a two-match series to ignite their chances of playing in the ICC World Test Championship final. The Men in Blue reached the No. 3 position in the points table after securing a win over Bangladesh, and Australia’s win over South Africa later also benefited them, and they jumped one more position to occupy the second place in the table.
Post-match, KL Rahul came to attend the press conference, and apart from the India-Bangladesh match-related question, he was asked about the atmosphere in the Indian dressing room for the upcoming FIFA World Cup final, to which he came up with a hilarious response.
The right-handed opening batter said, “Whichever team we were supporting are all out already. There were few Brazil fans, there were few England fans. So, I don’t really know who is an Argentina or France supporter, so we’ll just enjoy the game. We’re watching the game together, and we’ll have a good meal.
“Like I said five days after a game is really tiring, so enjoy tonight, watch the game. Final of the World Cup, we all love football. Most of you have seen we’re always playing football, before warmups, even back in the room.
“FIFA was big early on but the boys have relaxed a bit, there are other priorities, so it’ll be interesting to watch the game today. We will be divided a little bit, that’s what make watching sport fun,” Rahul added.
