‘Wajan kam karo’: PM Modi’s advice to former Bihar Deputy CM Tejashwi Yadav

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who attended a function at Bihar’s legislative assembly , reportedly gave a piece of advice to Leader of the Opposition and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav – ‘wajan kam karo (reduce weight). PM Modi was in Bihar on Tuesday for a function of the Assembly’s centenary celebrations.
On the occasion, Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Tajeshwi Yadav were among the leaders who were present there. PM Modi had a brief chat with Tejashwi. He also enquired about the health of Tejashwi’s father and former Bihar Chief Minister Lalu Prasad Yadav, who has been ill for quite some time and currently in AIIMS.
On July 4, Lalu Prasad was admitted to Paras Hospital in Patna after he reportedly lost his balance and fell down the stairs at his home. He suffered a minor fracture in his right shoulder following which his health deteriorated. He was later flown to AIIMS in Delhi.
The former Bihar CM’s daughter Misa Bharti recently shared two pictures of her father saying Lalu was able to sit up from the bed. “Can stand with support. Lalu ji’s condition is much better,” she said.
When PM Modi asked about Lalu’s health, Tejashwi said that he was now out of critical care. To this, PM Modi referred to new pictures and said he saw Lalu was now able to sit in a chair too.
Speaking at the event on Assembly’s centenary celebrations, PM Modi said it was being held at a time when the nation was celebrating Amrit Mahotsav of its independence. “100 years of Assembly and 75 yrs of independence isn’t just a coincidence of time, this coincidence has a shared past and a significant message,” he said.
He also said that the land of Bihar showed the nation to walk on the path of culture of democracy and ideals. For decades, he said, it was attempted to tell the people that India got democracy due to foreign rule and thinking. “Sometimes even our people say the same. But if someone says this, he is trying to hide Bihar’s history and heritage,” he said.
