In the wake of Mumbai politician Baba Siddique’s assassination, reportedly orchestrated by the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, an old video of actor Vivek Oberoi has resurfaced online. In the clip, Oberoi praises the Bishnoi community during an event in Dubai last year. He commended their deep connection with nature, particularly noting how Bishnoi mothers feed fawns when their mothers die, showcasing their compassion for animals.
Baba Siddique’s Assassination and Lawrence Bishnoi Gang’s Threats
Baba Siddique, an MLA associated with Sharad Pawar’s NCP faction, was shot dead outside his son Zeeshan Siddique’s office on Saturday in Mumbai. The Lawrence Bishnoi gang, which had previously threatened actor Salman Khan, has taken responsibility for the killing. Siddique was shot six times by three assailants and was declared dead at the hospital.
The gang’s resentment toward Salman Khan stems from the actor’s alleged involvement in the 1998 blackbuck poaching case, where the blackbuck, a sacred animal for the Bishnoi community, was killed. Salman Khan has faced several threats from the gang in the past, including bullets fired outside his home and a letter warning of a similar fate to that of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala, who was killed in 2022.
Salman Khan’s Reaction to Baba Siddique’s Death
Salman Khan, who shared a close relationship with Baba Siddique, cancelled his shoot and rushed to Lilavati Hospital in Bandra following the tragic incident.
Arrests in Connection with the Murder
Four individuals have been arrested in connection with Siddique’s murder, including Gurmail Baljit Singh, Dharmaraj Rajesh Kashyap, and Pravin Lonkar. Another suspect, Shivkumar Gautam, is still at large.
Baba Siddique’s Influence in Bollywood
Baba Siddique was well-connected in Bollywood and is remembered for playing a key role in ending the long-standing feud between Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan at his famous Iftaar party in 2013, after the two actors had not spoken for five years.
