The Kashmir Files director Vivek Agnihotri was trolled on social media for walking around the street while being surrounded by security officials. Many social media users slammed the filmmaker and called it a ‘wastage’ of their tax money. Now, he has hit back at the trolls and said that the tax money is used to combat terrorism and once that is completely abolished, he can live freely.

Filmmaker Vivek Agnihotri took to Twitter on Saturday (December 24) to react to trolls who criticized him for walking around the street in Mumbai with several security officials surrounding him.
A Twitter said, “Shocking to see how much of tax payers’ money is being wasted on security on a s****ag anti-national like you.”
Replying to the netizen. he shared a picture of a heavily guarded street in Kashmir and wrote, “Tax payers money is used here to combat religious terrorism. If this stops, I can also live freely. #Kashmir.”
Vivek trolled over his tweet
On Friday, Vivek shared a video of him going on a walk around the city, surrounded by security officials. He wrote, “The price one has to pay to show the Genocide of Hindus in Kashmir. In a Hindu majority country. Freedom of expression, ha! #ImprisonedInOwnCountry #Fatwa.”
Netizens dropped comments such as “Oh my tax money” and “What a waste of taxpayer’s money!”. Another user wrote, “Humare tax ke paise se security le rahe hain, apni movie tax free karke.”
Vivek on work front
Vivek Agnihotri broke all records at the box office with The Kashmir Files. The film collected over Rs 300 crore and was based on the exodus of Kashmiri Pandits in Kashmir in the 1990s
He is currently busy with the shoot of his next directorial The Vaccine War. The film is expected to hit theatres in 11 languages on Independence Day 2023.
