In a cheer for flyers to Frankfurt and Paris, Indian full-service airline Vistara will double its flights for the destinations this winter as the carrier has finally decided to lease a Boeing 787. This comes after the airline placed a firm order for six Dreamliners. However, Boeing has not yet made the delivery of the aircraft except the two B787s that Vistara is currently flying.
Vistara Dreamliners offer economy, premium economy and business cabins. The third Dreamliner aircraft being inducted will also come with fully-flat business class seats, each with direct aisle access, and a separate premium economy cabin.
Boeing has been facing some issues which have led to a delay in delivery of aircraft. Vistara, on the other hand, has been looking to lease wide body aircraft for months now, including long haul ones so as to cater to flyers looking for nonstop North America flights.
“Vistara gears up to receive its third Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner aircraft which has been leased recently. Starting October 30, 2022, Vistara will operate six weekly flights between Delhi and Frankfurt, up from the current three weekly. Connectivity between Delhi and Paris goes up from twice to five times weekly. Opened sale for these additional flights, across all channels,” Vistara said in a statement.
Vistara chief commercial officer Deepak Rajawat said, “Europe has been a key focus market for us since the very beginning, and we are glad that our customers appreciate our offerings on these long-haul routes. We have been wanting to ramp up frequencies on these sectors and we are delighted to be able to finally do that.”
It is worth stating that this May, the airline scaled up frequencies on some international routes, including Delhi-London and Mumbai-Singapore to daily flights. Moreover, services commenced between Mumbai-Jeddah, and Mumbai-Bangkok earlier this week.
