Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma share priceless moment after Indian skipper’s first ODI ton in 3 years

Former Indian captain Virat Kohli and current skipper Rohit Sharma shared a warm embrace with each other after Rohit’s 30th ODI century. Rohit completed his first ODI ton in three years during the ongoing 3rd ODI between India and New Zealand at the Holkar Stadium in Indore on Tuesday (January 24).
Rohit reached the milestone in just 83 balls as the Men in Blue made a high-flying start after New Zealand skipper Tom Latham won the toss and chose to bowl first. The opening pair of Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill put up a massive partnership of 212 runs with both players scoring tons.
Gill scored his 3rd ton in the 50-over format in the last four innings but it was Rohit’s first three-figure score in the format since January 2020 when he reached the milestone against Australia at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru to notch his 29th ODI ton.
After Rohit was dismissed for a knock of 101 in just 85 balls, he shared a priceless moment with former captain Virat Kohli on the way back to his dressing room. As Kohli made his way onto the middle, he made sure to congratulate Rohit for his stupendous ton. The duo had a chat on the ground as the images went viral on social media.
After reaching the pitch, Kohli made sure to congratulate Gill for his own century too. Gill departed shortly after for a 78-ball 112.
Kohli looked in fine touch after entering the pitch and got off to a quick-fire start. However, he failed to make the most of his fluent touch and was dismissed after making 37 runs in just 27 balls. India’s middle order stumbled with both Ishan Kishan and Suryakumar Yadav departing early. However, a 36-ball half-century from Hardik Pandya helped India get a good finish.
