Rajkummar Rao and Tripti Dimri film’s trailer was released by the makers on Thursday, and within 24 hours it has garnered an impressive response across social media platforms. YouTube alone has over 8.2 million views and people are going gaga over Tripti’s versatility and charm.
Tripti made her debut in the year 2017 with Mom. Her first film as a lead was Imtiaz Ali’s Laila Majnu, which also brought her a lot of critical acclaim. But it was only after Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal that the actor managed to become a household name and earned the tag of ‘National Crush’. When Imtiaz Ali’s Laila Majnu was released in the year 2018, it failed to hit the right chords with the audience. The film hardly managed to collect 3 crores during its theatrical run. But thanks to OTT platform as Laila Majnu found its audience eventually and became a sleeper hit over the years.
Looking at the craze for this cult, the makers decided to re-release it on August 9, 2024 worldwide and the response was tremendous this time. Sharing her joy, Tripti said in an interview, “I love that people are celebrating Laila Majnu now, as we felt bad when it didn’t happen earlier. I am and everyone is overwhelmed and emotional.”

Contrary to her image in films such as Laila Majnu and Qala, Tripti Dimri’s sensuous photo in a blue towel created quite a stir on internet. Not just that, Tripti Dimri’s bold photoshoot in swimwear and her vacation pictures from the picturesque locations of Europe, also caught eyeballs. To solidify her versatility, Tripti went on to do the film Bad Newzz, in which her dance with Vicky Kaushal had many steamy scenes. Owing to her craze among this generation, makers of popular franchise Bhool Bhulaiyaa signed her for the third installment of the film. Bhool Bhulaiyya 3, which will also see Vidya Balan returning to the franchise alongside Kartik Aaryan, is already creating buzz on social media. The audience is curious to know how Tripti Dimpri’s character will be incorporated in the fresh story. Some portions, featuring Tripti and Kartik, have already been shot in Mumbai by director Anees Bazmee.
