Superstar Rajinkanth’s movie releases are no less than a festival for his fans and his latest film ‘Vettaiyan’ has been getting the same treatment from the audiences. ‘Vettaiyan’ also marks Rajinikanth’s collaboration with legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan after 33 years. The two share a great bond with each other in real life but ‘Vettaiyan’ showcased their conflict due to different ideologies. The movie has been performing well at the box office.
Vettaiyan Box Office Collection Day 2:
According to the website Sacnilk, ‘Vettaiyan’ collected Rs 24 crore on day 2. The movie has already crossed the Rs 50 crore mark at the box office in India and has earned Rs 55 crore approximately within two days.
While speaking to 123 Telugu, director TJ Gnanavel shared what the audience should expect from ‘Vettaiyan’. He said, “After Jailer’s massive success, the expectations on Rajini sir have increased a lot. Vettaiyan will have songs and fights as well. But I didn’t deviate from what I wanted to convey. We have seen films about encounter specialists before, but we have never seen their background stories. Vettaiyan throws light on their thinking process.”
“Thalaivar Rajinikanth is an encounter specialist in the film. What is his stand on encounters and what happens to him is the film’s plot. I cannot change myself completely for Rajini sir. People usually expect a few elements from him, like style and grace. While staying true to the story, I did my best to match Thalaivar’s image and stardom,” he added.
The movie has a talented ensemble of stars including Fahadh Faasil, Rana Daggubati, Manju Warrier, Ritika Singh, Dushara Vijayan and Abhirami in the pivotal roles.
On the work front, Rajinikanth will be seen in ‘Coolie’, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj.
