While Varun Dhawan, Kiara Advani, Anil Kapoor and Neetu Kapoor starrer Jugjuggg Jeeyo may not be a runaway success at the box office like Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2, the film still has managed to rake in good numbers. After having decent box office success, turns out JugJugg Jeeyo has contributed over 50 per cent business at ticket windows at the end of Week 1.
Earlier today, film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the film’s business, writing, “#JugJuggJeeyo is decent in Week 1… National chains [#PVR, #INOX, #Cinepolis] conistribute 53.67% of *Week 1* biz, but mass belt slipped on weekdays… Needs to maintain in Weekend 2 – especially at premium multiplexes – for a healthy lifetime total… Data in next tweet…”
In a separate tweet, Adarsh shared, “#JugJuggJeeyo Fri 9.28 cr, Sat 12.55 cr, Sun 15.10 cr, Mon 4.82 cr, Tue 4.52 cr, Wed 3.97 cr, Thu 3.42 cr. Total: ₹ 53.66 cr. #India biz.”
Notably, this is no where near Kartik Aaryan’s Rs 92.05 crore week 1 business for Bhool Bhulaiyaa. However, the film has managed to beat projects like Samrat Prithviraj, Major and Janhit Mein Jaari at the box office with its business.
Jugjugg Jeeyo has managed to perform decently in Delhi NCR and East Punjab circle, while Mumbai too has contributed handsomely to the film’s box office business. The Varun Dhawan film has earned around $3 million overseas as well, bringing the worldwide gross collection of the film to around Rs 85 crore.
Furthermore, as per a report in Bollywood Hungama,Jugjugg Jeeyo, which was released last Friday across 3375+ screens in the domestic market has emerged as Varun Dhawan’s seventh all-time highest opening week grosser. In fact, the business of the film has managed to surpass Varun’s previous releases like Dishoom which collected Rs. 53.34 crore, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania which collected Rs. 53.31 crore, and Street Dancer 3D which collected Rs. 52.94 crore.
