Varun Dhawan’s Bhediya grabbed everyone’s attention with its impressive VFX! After the teasers of highly awaited movies like Adipurush and Pathaan were slammed by netizens for their mostly disappointing VFX, Bhediya appears to be emerge as a promising one. However, that hasn’t stopped the actor from admitting he’s been in his fair share of films with bad special effects.
In case you weren’t aware, Bhediya is a horror-comedy directed by Amar Khaushik that features Varun Dhawan playing the role of a werewolf. The film also stars Kriti Sanon, Abhishek Banerjee and Deepak Dobriyal in pivotal roles and is set to open in theaters across the nation on November 25. The upcoming movie is the third installment of Dinesh Vijan’s horror-comedy universe that includes the highly acclaimed Stree and Roohi.
Bhediya’s trailer was released on November 19 to commemorate the Jugjugg Jeeyo actor’s 10 years in the film industry. While talking about the high quality VFX in Bhediya, the Bollywood star also expressed his views on ‘cringe-worthy’ special effects.
The Student of the Year fame actor admitted to working on numerous films with bad visual effects. However, because it is not his department, he said he could not do anything, adding he could only work with producers and directors to bring that change about.
However, recently the actor somewhat defended Bollywood’s VFX prowess, claiming Indian films often receive too much flack for the quality of their visual effects. “We often receive flak for the VFX in our films. We, however, don’t have that much money,” he had said at an event.
Meanwhile, on the professional front, the actor is currently working on a movie other than Bhediya. The Badrinath Ki Dulhania actor is all set to star in 2023 film Bawaal alongside Janhvi Kapoor. The upcoming movie is reportedly Varun Dhawan’s most expensive production to date.
