The value of UPI-based digital payments in August 2022 crossed Rs 10.73 lakh crore, which is marginally higher than Rs 10.63 lakh crore clocked in July month of the same year, according to the latest data from the National Payments Corporation of India (NCPI).
According to NCPI data, 657 crore UPI transactions were made in the month of August, up from 628 crore in the preceding month. In June, 586 crore such transactions were made, valued at Rs 10.14 lakh crore.
In other data released by NCPI, the instant payment transfer-based IMPS saw 46.69 crore transactions in the month of August, totalling to Rs 4.46 lakh crore. In July, the figure stood at 46.08 crore, with a total value of Rs 4.45 lakh crore.
However, the transaction value of the Aadhaar-based ‘AePS’declined by 10% to Rs 27,186 crore from Rs 30,199 crore in the month of July. The number of such transactions declined to 10.56 crore in August from 11 crores in July.
