Ministry of Railways on Saturday on its Twitter account shared the images of the proposed design of the to-be redeveloped Ghaziabad Railway Station. The Uttar Pradesh railway station to be redeveloped at a cost of Rs 550 crore bears a modern look in the photos shared by the ministry.
“Imbuing Modern Outlook: The proposed design of the to-be redeveloped Ghaziabad Railway Station in Uttar Pradesh,” the ministry tweeted along with the design photos of the railway station.
The Indian Railways earlier said it has accelerated the redevelopment of 40 railway stations across the country to provide airport-like facilities.
The redevelopment of these stations envisages provision of spacious Roof Plaza, facilities such as food court, waiting lounge, children play area, designated space for local products, etc. The development will integrate various modes of transport with Railway Station viz. Metro, Bus, etc. and will also integrate both sides of city with station.
The North Central Railway along with Northern, North Eastern and East Central Railways connect various destinations in Uttar Pradesh through railways.
Indian Railways has a history of more than 160 years in the state and has the highest route kilometers – 9100 route kilometers-with in it, which is 14% of entire Indian Railways network.
The Indian Railways has taken up a number of development projects at Ghaziabad Railway station in the last few years. These include: Level Crossing No. 2C at Ghaziabad Railway station connecting NH 24 to NH 58 at Ghaziabad Railway station; Level Crossing No. 8 in Ghaziabad-Saharanpur section. Elevated Road Near Bridge no 234A at Hindon river near Ghaziabad Railway station. Level Crossing No. 2C in Ghaziabad Yard-Saharanpur section. Road Under Bridges Near Hindon Bridge No 234Aon Delhi Ghaziabad Section; Level Crossing No. 156 and 155 on Delhi Ghaziabad section. 2. Passenger Amenities: Escalator at Ghaziabad Railway station; Improvement to station building at Ghaziabad Railway station.
