Yesterday, a report went viral on the internet suggesting that former Taarak Mehta of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, Shailesh Lodha is yet to receive his final payment, which is reportedly in six-figures. According to the report, Asit Kumarr Modi, the show’s producer, has withheld his payment due to his controversial exit from the show.
TMKOC’s project head reacts to reports of non-payment to Shailesh Lodha
After the report of Hindustan Times went viral on social media, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah’s project head Suhel Ramani lashed out at Shailesh Lodha and said that he has not yet completed the formalities.
In a statement shared with the media, the TMKOC’s project head said, “Despite repeated communication to sign the All Dues document and collect his pending payment, Shailesh Lodha has refused to do it. When you leave any company or show, there is always a procedure that needs to be followed and fulfilled. Every artiste, staff or technicians needs to do these formalities. No company will release the payment before completing the formalities.”
He further stated that the company has not stopped anyone’s payments. Suhel revealed that each person associated with the show and company has to follow some protocols.
Apart from the project head, an insider of the production house also revealed that Shailesh Lodha leaving the show was a painful incident for all. The source said, “Shailesh Lodha and other actors have been like an extended family of the production house. We have maintained a dignified silence on exits and the causes of the exits out of respect for the person concerned. It is very sad and painful when an artist behaves in this manner. To forget the relationship and popularity that they received from the show is unethical. Payment is not an issue. He will get his dues, but he needs to do closure and sign the papers.”

Talking about Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah, the show has been entertaining audiences for 15 years now. It stars Dilip Joshi, Amit Bhatt, Munmun Dutta, Mandar Chandwadkar and others in key roles.
