TMKOC Actor Shailesh Lodha Sues Asit Modi Over Non-Payment Of Dues. Project Head Says ‘We Never Refused’

Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah actor Shailesh Lodha, who played the titular role of Taarak Mehta on the popular sitcom, has filed a complaint against the show’s producer Asit Modi in March to get his pending payments. The actor quit the show in April 2022.

After complaining about unpaid dues, Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah actor Shailesh Lodha has taken legal action against the makers of the show to get his pending payments. According to Hindustan Times, Lodha has filed a complaint against TMKOC producer Asit Modi in March for his unpaid dues and had also sued his production company. Lodha also reached out to the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT) to sort the issue, according to a Hindustan Times report.

The hearing will take place in May. Speaking about the case, he said, “The matter is subjudice and under court, so I’ll not comment anything on this.”

TMKOC Project Head Reacts To Complaint
While Asit Modi avoided to commenting on the matter, the show’s project head, Sohil Ramani said, “There isn’t much to say that hasn’t been said earlier. Shailesh Lodha has been like a family only. When he left we respected that. And on numerous occasions through email and on telephone we have requested him to come to the office to sign all required paperwork and take his remaining numeration. We have never denied or refused to give his payment. In every company when people leave, they have to sign full and final papers before complete payment is released. Where is the issue? Instead of going around and complaining, isn’t it better to simply follow the regular procedure?”
He further added that the company doesn’t wish to pursue the legal case. “We are not pursuing any case, because we did not refuse to give his payment. We have already informed sir (Lodha) to take his dues and sign the required papers,” Ramani said.
Earlier, a few reports suggested that Shailesh Lodha left the show after a rift with Asit Modi.
