Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, apart from being a successful actress, is a doting mother to her daughter Aaradhya. The ‘Guru’ star recently won the Best Actress (Tamil) award at IIFA Utsavam 2024 and Aaradhya was present at the award ceremony to celebrate her mother’s big win. Amid this big milestone, Aishwarya was asked why Aaradhya goes with her ‘everywhere’ and she was quick to shut down the question by replying, “She’s my daughter, she goes with me everywhere.”
This is not the first time Aishwarya has faced public scrutiny about her daughter being with her. In 2023, Aaradhya along with her father Abhishek Bachchan moved to the court after some YouTube channels reported fake news on her health and called her ‘critically ill’. After the plea was filed by Aaradhya, the Delhi High Court restrained YouTube channels from publishing, sharing, and disseminating any false information on her health or physical condition. The court also ordered Google to delist and deactivate all videos that were mentioned in the plea.
During the promotions of ‘Ponniyin Selvan 2’, Aishwarya called the false information about her daughter ‘unnecessary and insensitive’. While speaking to the news agency PTI, she said, “It’s so nice that a member from the media only is recognising that that does exist. So that gives us a great hope that you are obviously not going to perpetuate that, you are not going to encourage that and thank you very much for your wise recognition of the negative impact of false writing or unnecessary writing which is insensitive and unnecessary.”
Abhishek Bachchan also had angry reactions over the false information being shared about his daughter. During the promotion of ‘Bob Biswas’, the actor said that he would not tolerate anything against his daughter. While speaking to Bollywood Life, he said, “While it’s completely unacceptable and something that I will not tolerate. I’m a public figure that’s fine, my daughter is out of bounds. If you have anything to say, come and say it to my face.”
On the work front, Aishwarya Rai was last seen in the hit Tamil movie ‘Ponniyin Selvan 2’ for which she recently won the Best Actress award at IIFA 2024. Her next project has not been announced yet.
