India is battling one of its toughest battles as the entire country continues to struggle with the Covid-19 pandemic. While India itself is struggling to provide its citizens with medical resources in this unprecedented challenge, help has been pouring in from other countries all across the world at this time, not just in material form but also moral.

Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) superstar Conor McGregor has lent his support to India and its citizens involved in this gruelling battle saying the world is with them in this battle.

“Training with India’s next heavyweight champion, @ramstonrodrigues. Working with Ramston, I know first hand how strong India and its people truly are! I stand with India in their fight through Covid. Let’s go India! We are with you! The world is with you!” McGregor wrote as he posted a picture with Indian heavyweight fighter Ramston Edwin Rodriguez.

Rodriguez himself also posted a picture on his Instagram account, thanking The Notorious for his kind words.

“Thank you champ @thenotoriousmma for your kind words and support to our great nation. We learn and come back stronger than ever. Stay strong India,” he wrote.

McGregor has been one of the biggest superstars in UFC history of late. He is next scheduled to take on Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in Las Vegas on June 10. The Irish MMA fighter had lost his match against Poirier in the UFC 257, much to the surprise of fans and is looking to avenge his defeat.

India has been overloaded by a barrage of new Covid-19 infections every single day. The country has been witnessing over 3.5 lakh new Covid-19 cases almost every single day. Over 4000 deaths due to the virus have also been reported regularly over the past few days. Maharashtra, Karnataka, Kerala and Delhi are among the most affected regions in the country.
