The ‘duck’ factor: Jasprit Bumrah’s wife Sanjana mocks England batters as her husband runs riot at the Oval

Jasprit Bumrah ripped through the England batting line-up, bagging his maiden 6-wicket-haul in ODI cricket as the hosts were bowled out for 110 runs at the Oval. Of these 6 dismissals, three were ducks. Seeing Bumrah weave his magic in the middle, his wife Sanjana Ganesan decided to troll the English batters in an epic manner.
Sanjana, who is a sports presenter with the broadcaster for the series, decided to head out for a ‘duck wrap’ as Bumrah and Mohammed Shami were dismantling England batters, bagging a total of 4 ducks on the 22-yard strip.
“While our bowlers bagged some s on the field, @SanjanaGanesan ‘wrap’ped up some s off the field at #TheOval.”, read a tweet by the broadcaster as they shared a video on social media where Sanjana could be seen mocking the hosts’ batting unit.
“The food area is a busy place it’s a shocker block full of English fans coz they don’t wanna watch the cricket. There are plenty of stalls here fries, hot dogs typical match day food for you, We have come to a stall that not a lot of English batters would like to come to. It’s called the Crispy Duck. We’ve got a duck wrap with us we wanna see how good the duck is off the field because the duck on the field have been absolutely fantastic.” said Sanjana in the video.
Bumrah was named the Player of the Match for his superlative show at the Oval. The marquee pacer couldn’t hide his happiness at the post-match presentation ceremony, admitting that it was enthralling to see how the ball was both swinging and seaming in the middle.
“When there’s swing and seam movement, it is very exciting in white-ball cricket to get that opportunity because you have to be defensive with the kind of pitches we usually get. When I bowled the first ball, I found some swing and we tried to exploit that. When it doesn’t swing, I have to pull my lengths back. When the ball is doing something you don’t have to try a lot. When the wicket is flat your accuracy is tested. It is a good place to be when the ball is swinging,” he said.
It was the first time that an Indian bowler had taken 6 wickets in a single ODI match at the Kennington Oval. In the second match scheduled to take place Lord’s on Thursday, Bumrah would be eager to continue his good form and produce a similar performance.
