John Abraham’s new release, The Diplomat, hit the big screens on Friday with minimal pre- release hype. The political thriller, that explores themes of global diplomacy, has been performing decently at the box office. The movie directed by Shivam Nair has been receiving postive word of mouth which is resulting in box office numbers.
Box Office Collection Day 4
As per reports by The Sanilk, The Diplomat collected Rs.1.50 crore on its fourth day brining the total collection to Rs. 14.80 crore. The film had collected Rs.4 crore net on the opening day and on day 2 the film saw a boost in revenues, collecting Rs.4.5 crore net.
Inspired By True Events
The film is inspired by the real life story of Indian national Uzma Ahmad, who was rescued and brought back to India to 2017. She claimed to had been lured into traveling to Pakistan, where she was forced into marriage at gunpoint and subjected to abuse. Her harrowing escape and return to India became a major diplomatic event, forming the basis of the film’s gripping narrative.
A Power-Packed Production Team
The Diplomat is backed by a great team of producers from several of the top production houses. The movie is jointly produced by Bhushan Kumar and Krishan Kumar under T-Series, together with John Abraham’s JA Entertainment. Vipul D. Shah, Ashwin Varde and Rajesh Bahl have also joined in under Wakaoo Films, while Sameer Dixit, Jatish Varma and Rakesh Dang have sponsored the venture through Fortune Pictures and Seeta Films.
