Telugu Film Chamber sets new guidelines for film industry, rules on extra payments to artists’ staff, and more to be implemented

The Telugu film industry has been garnering a lot of attention since the last few years. With major and big hits like Baahubali, KGF Chapter 2, Pushpa: The Rise, RRR, and others, South Indian films and their stars have become a favourite amongst the audience. Now, according to the latest update, the Telugu Film Chamber has released some key steps which will be implemented from September 10, 2022.
From no extra payments to artists’ staff to no mention of TV-OTT companies in any promotional material, here are the new guidelines which will be implemented from September 10.
Girish Johar took to his Twitter and shared the copy of the guidelines. It read, “After extensive discussions/meetings with all Stake Holders and Third Parties related to our industry, below are agreed by all to be implemented from September 10th, 2022.”
Girish wrote while sharing the guidelines on Twitter, “Key steps by Telugu Film Chamber… •No extra payments to Artists/Talent’s Staff, no local transport/accommodation, no special food etc. •Exclsv 8 Wks Window for any Theatrical Release. •TV-OTT Companies won’t be mentioned in any promotional material. •Other issues talks on.”
Meanwhile, on a related note, the Telugu Film Chamber and Telugu Producer Council have unanimously decided to call off the movie strike, and formed committees to find concrete solutions in the matter. The Telugu Film Producers Guild (ATFPG) had earlier announced that there would be no film shooting from the first week of August. They shared a note that read, “Post-Pandemic with the changing revenue situations and increasing costs, it has become important for producers to discuss all the issues we are facing as a community of filmmakers.”
Talking about deciding to call off the strike, Dil Raju said during a press conference, “The Telugu Film Chamber of Commerce is working on the problems for the film industry. As soon as the problem resolves, shooting will be continued in full swing.”
