Expelled RJD leader Tej Pratap Yadav has denied rumours claiming that a woman has given birth to his child. Speaking at a press conference on Sunday, he called the claims ‘fake’ and said he would take legal action against those spreading them. Yadav said he first heard about the rumours when Union minister Jitan Ram Manjhi allegedly ‘congratulated’ him on the birth of the child.
‘I am upset about social media posts linking me to a woman I was falsely connected with months ago, which led to my expulsion from the party,’ Yadav said. He added that his recent Makar Sankranti feast may have made some people in politics nervous about his influence. ‘I will go to court and have also requested a meeting with Home Minister Samrat Choudhary. I ask my detractors to let me live in peace. I know the person the woman is actually involved with and dragging my name is causing me stress,’ he added.
Tej Pratap names five ‘Jaichands’
Yadav said the viral post, claiming he was in a 12-year relationship with the woman, was a result of someone hacking his Facebook account. He accused five people, whom he called the ‘Jaichands’ (a term for traitors), of spreading the rumours.
He named them as Mukesh Raushan, Sanjay Yadav, Shakti Singh Yadav, Rameez and Sunil Singh. Sanjay Yadav is a current RJD MP, Sunil Singh is an MLC, Shakti Singh Yadav and Mukesh Raushan are former MLAs and Rameez is a close friend of Tejashwi Yadav, Tej Pratap’s younger brother and the new RJD national working president.
Plans for legal action
Tej Pratap said he will take strict legal action against those responsible. This controversy comes after his expulsion from RJD last year over a Facebook post linking him to the same woman, showing ongoing internal party tensions and rivalries.
