The Indian cricket team is going to take the field again after a long break. Team India, led by Rohit Sharma, will be seen playing 2 Test matches and 3 T20 matches against Bangladesh from September 19. Meanwhile, media reports are claiming that Team India’s vice-captain Shubman Gill may be kept out of the team.
Why Will He Be Out Of The Team?
According to media reports, Team India’s veteran vice-captain Shubman Gill may be given rest after the 2 Test match series against Bangladesh. He may be left out of the T20 team against Bangladesh. This information was given by a BCCI source in a conversation with PTI.
Rest Will Be Given Keeping In Mind New Zealand And Australia
According to the report, Shubman Gill will be rested in the T20 series against Bangladesh because Team India has to play matches against Bangladesh on October 7 (Gwalior), October 10 (Delhi) and October 13 (Hyderabad). Whereas, the Indian team will play the first Test match against New Zealand on October 16. In such a situation, the board will save Shubman Gill from getting entangled in T20 and then Test cricket after the Test. After New Zealand, Team India has to play the 5 Test match Border-Gavaskar Trophy against Australia.
Shubman Gill Is The Vice-Captain In All Three Formats
Team India’s head coach Gautam Gambhir made Shubman Gill the vice-captain of the Indian team in all three formats of cricket after taking over the command of Team India. After winning the T20 World Cup title, Shubman Gill was given the command of the Indian cricket team that went on a tour of Zimbabwe. He is also being seen as the next captain of Team India.
