Taapsee Pannu and Anurag Kashyap have teamed up once again and are busy with promotions for Dobaaraa. During a recent interview, Taapsee responded to the question of how her career graph matches that of actor Akshay Kumar and that she’s being called ‘Lady Akki’ by some as well. While she would’ve been glad about the comparisons, she did complain how their pay checks don’t match.
Meanwhile, Anurag also mentioned how Akshay is the 6th richest actor after all.
It was during an interview with Siddharth Kanna that he quizzed her about the comparisons and to that, Taapsee went on to say, “I will accept this compliment humbly if my paycheck matches his until then please don’t do that. He is the highest earning and highest tax payer and all that and mere ko itne nahi milte (I don’t get that much paid).”
Meanwhile, when Anurag added how Akshay ki is the 6th richest actor, Taapsee also added how she is not even near that.
For the unversed, as per Forbes India, Akshay was the only Indian to be a part of Forbes US list of World’s Highest Paid Celebrities back in 2018. With a $65 million (₹ 517 crore) in earnings, the actor ranked 33. In 2020, he made it to the 6th spot on the highest paid actors list. The magazine mentioned he earns $48.5 million ( ₹ 385 crore) and most of his income comes through endorsements.
Dobaaraa is directed by Anurag Kashyap and produced by Ekta Kapoor. This movie will be releasing on August 19 and will mark the director-actor’s third collaboration after Manmarziyan and Saand Ki Aankh. The trailer of the movie has been received well and many are excited about it.
As for Taapsee, she was last seen in Shabaash Mithu, while Akshay is gearing up for Raksha Bandhan.
