‘Support me and I will give you Hindu Rashtra’, says Bageshwar Dham ‘Sarkar’ Dhirendra Krishna Shastri

Mired in controversy over delivering ‘miracles’, Bageshwar Dham ‘Sarkar’ Dhirendra Krishna Shastri has promised ‘Hindu Rashtra’ to his followers if they support him. Dhirendra Krishna Shastri is the head priest of Bageshwar Dham in Gada village which attracts thousands of followers.
On the occasion of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose’s 126th birth anniversary on Monday, the self-styled godman said, “Just as Netaji said that you give me blood and I will give you freedom. I promise to give you a ‘Hindu Rashtra’ provised your support is with me.”
Dhirendra Krishna Shastri said he has devised this new slogan and people should spread this slogan across the country for a Hindu Rashtra.
Bageshwar Dham chief made the said comments during a sermon to his followers on January 23.
In antother interview to ANI, Dhirendra Shastri said that, “If we are together, then we are a Hindu Rashtra. This is our demand and this is not illogical or unconstitutional in any way.”
Meanwhile on Wednesday, Dhirendra Shastri allegedly received death threats from an unknown caller. the self-styled godman claims to predict the future of people through chits. The alleged death threat was given by a man over the phone in Madhya Pradesh’s Chhatarpur district, police said.
Dhirendra Shastri’s cousin Lokesh Garg allegedly received the threat on Monday night. The caller identified himself as Amar Singh. Following a complaint, a case was registered under sections 506 (Punishment for criminal intimidation) and 507 (Criminal intimidation by an anonymous communication) of Indian Penal Code (IPC) at Bamitha police station,” said superintendent of police Sachin Sharma told PTI.
In a new development on Wednesday, Maharashtra Police gave a clean chit to Dhirendra Shastri in a case allegedly related to spreading superstition.
“Maharashtra Police have done a detailed analysis of the videos of his program held in Nagpur. It has been concluded that no superstition was being spread during his program in Nagpur,” said Amitesh Kumar, Nagpur Police Commissioner.
