In 2019 a TV journalist moved to the court seeking registration of a First Information Report against Bollywood actor Salman Khan and his bodyguards for allegedly misbehaving and assaulting him after he tried to film the actor who was riding a bicycle.
Now in the latest development of the case, summons warrants has been issued against Salman and his bodyguard by Andheri Metropolitan Court on Tuesday in Mumbai.
Ashok Panday, a film journalist had filed a ‘private complaint’ in the court of RR Khan, Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate, Andheri, under IPC sections 323 (causing hurt), 392 (robbery), and 506 (criminal intimidation).
According to the filed complaint, the alleged incident took place on April 24, 2019, when Salman was riding a bicycle escorted by two bodyguards.
The journalists claimed that he was riding a car and after spotting the actor riding the bicycle, he started recording a video after seeking consent from Khan’s bodyguards. The actor, however, got irritated and his bodyguards allegedly came to the car and started thrashing and assaulting Pandey, said the application.
Salman also joined his bodyguard to assault him and also snatched away his mobile phone, Pandey alleged. The trio allegedly threatened him with dire consequences. Pandey later approached the court because police disposed his complaint saying that no crime was conducted, he further added.
Cut to the present, talking about Salman’s professional life. The actor will star in Tiger 3 with Katrina Kaif. Most of the shooting schedule of the film was carried outside the country.
