The horror-comedy sequel ‘Stree 2’ has quickly become a box office sensation, with its worldwide gross surpassing ₹283 crore after just four days in theaters. The film, released on August 15, 2024, has received enthusiastic reviews and a strong audience turnout, solidifying its position as a major hit.

Box Office Performance

By Day 4, ‘Stree 2’ had accumulated impressive numbers, with its global earnings hitting ₹283 crore. This figure includes an India net collection of ₹204 crore. The film’s India gross stands at ₹240 crore, while its overseas earnings contribute ₹43 crore to the total. Notably, the film achieved a significant milestone with its weekend numbers outperforming those of August 15th, showcasing its strong performance.

On August 18, 2024, this horror comedy saw high occupancy rates, particularly in major cities such as Bengaluru, Chennai, Delhi NCR, Lucknow, and Mumbai. The film recorded an overall Hindi occupancy of 72.74% on Sunday, indicating widespread appeal across the country.

The Film and Stree 2 Stars

Amar Kaushik directs and Jio Studios and Dinesh Vijan produce ‘Stree 2’, the highly anticipated sequel to the 2018 hit ‘Stree’. The film continues the story of Vicky, played by Rajkummar Rao, and his friends who are now facing a new threat in their town of Chanderi. This time, they are terrorized by the villain Sarkata.

The movie stars Shraddha Kapoor alongside Rajkummar Rao, with a strong supporting cast that includes Abhishek Banerjee, Pankaj Tripathi, and Aparshakti Khurana. The film’s engaging plot and strong performances have contributed to its success.

Box Office Clash

‘Stree 2’ had to contend with two other major Bollywood releases: Akshay Kumar’s ‘Khel Khel Mein’ and John Abraham’s ‘Vedaa’, directed by Nikkhil Advani. Despite this competition, ‘Stree 2’ has managed to stand out and attract a large audience, further solidifying its success at the box office.
