Linda Hamilton:
While speaking to Empire, Matt Duffer revealed that Linda Hamilton will play the role of Dr Kay, who is a government agent and wants to hunt down Eleven. He said, “She’s hyper-intelligent and intimidating.”
‘She’s a scientist but if she needs to, she can get into a fight and shoot a gun,” the director added.
Nell Fisher and Jake Connelly:
Nell Fisher and Jake Connelly are also the new additions to the star cast. The former is confirmed to play Holly Wheeler, who is the younger sister of Mike. Holly was shown as a toddler in the previous seasons and had less screen time. However, in the fifth season, she is a little bit older and will be seen in a pivotal role. Whereas, not much has been revealed by Jake Connelly’s character Derek Turnbow, but he will also appear as an important character.
Meanwhile, while speaking to Variety, the creators of Stranger Things Season 5 confirmed that there will be an 18-month time jump from the fourth season. For the unversed, in Season 4, Vecna successfully opened the dimensions of Upside Down, which had a severe effect on the Hawkins.
In another interview, the cast revealed that they were worried about the show’s finale receiving similar hate to ‘Game of Thrones’. Finn Wolfhard, who plays Mike, told Time Magazine, “I think everyone was pretty worried, honestly. The way that Game of Thrones got torn to shreds in that final season, we’re all walking into this going, ‘We hope to not have that kind of thing happen’ … But then we read the scripts. We knew that it was something special.”
