Squid Game actor O Yeong Su strongly denied the allegations of sexual misconduct brought against him by an unidentified woman in court today. Stating that he had held her hand only to lead the way, the veteran actor mostly spoke through his lawyer.
O Yeong Su denies all sexual harassment accusations
In his first court hearing on February 3, the Squid Game star presented his side of the argument through a lawyer. Expressing that Yeong Su had merely walked the accuser home, without harassing her, the lawyer said, “The defendant would like to request for the dismissal of this random case, as well as the dismissal of the prosecution’s indictment charge.”
Meanwhile, accuser A’s side continued to claim that the veteran actor had ‘forcibly embraced’ her on a walk and had then ‘kissed her on the right cheek unwarned’ while she was typing in her door’s passcode. An additional private hearing with witnesses from both sides will be held on April 14.
O Yeong Su’s sexual harassment case
For the unversed, a woman ‘A’ filed a lawsuit against Squid game actor O Yeong Su in December 2021, alleging he had sexually harassed her in 2017. Following the police’s dismissal of A’s case, due to lack of solid evidence, she appealed to the prosecution. The prosecution sent Yeong Su’s case to district court in November 2022, despite the actor’s persistent denial of A’s accusations.
