Prime Minister Narendra Modi reached poll-bound Karnataka to inaugurate a slew of projects including a new metro line in Bengaluru. He is also scheduled to address a mega public rally in the state.
PM Modi inaugurated Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research at Chikkaballapur.
He inaugurated Whitefield (Kadugodi) to Krishnarajapura Metro Line of Bangalore Metro and also undertake a ride in the metro.
This is Prime Minister’s seventh visit to the southern state this year.

He further said that with ‘Sabka Prayaas’, India is on the path of becoming a developed nation. “Our effort has been on augmenting India’s healthcare infrastructure. We have given priority to the health of the poor and middle class,” he said.
- Sri Madhusudan Sai Institute of Medical Sciences and Research has been established by Sri Sathya Sai University for Human Excellence at Sathya Sai Grama, Muddenahalli, Chikkaballapur.
- It is situated in a rural area and established with a vision of de-commercialising medical education and healthcare.
- The institute will provide medical education and quality medical care – completely free of cost – to all.
- The institute will start functioning from the academic year 2023.
- PM Modi inaugurated the 13.71 km stretch from Whitefield (Kadugodi) Metro to Krishnarajapura Metro Line of Reach-1 extension project under Bangalore Metro Phase 2 at Whitefield (Kadugodi) Metro Station.
- The metro line is built at a cost of around Rs 4,250 crore.
- The inauguration of this metro line will provide a clean, safe, rapid and comfortable travel facility to commuters in Bengaluru, enhancing ease of mobility and reducing traffic congestion in the city, the government said in a release.
- The Election Commission may announce the election schedule for Assembly polls, due by May, in the next few days.
