Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut on Monday cornered Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led BJP government at the Centre over the targeted killings of migrant workers in Jammu and Kashmir saying that the situation in the Union Territory is worrisome.
The situation in J&K is worrisome. Bihari migrants, Kashmiri Pandits, Sikhs are being targeted…When it’s about Pak, you talk of surgical strikes. Then, it should be done for China too…Defence Minister or Union Home Minister need to tell the nation what’s the situation Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh,” ANI quoted Raut as saying.
He also slammed the Modi govt over the scrapping of Article 370 and said that the removal of the special status did not improve the situation in Kashmir, rather terrorism has increased.
“Government is playing a role according to political convenience. The people of Kashmir are dying. The government should play a concrete role in Kashmir,” he added.
His remarks came after a street hawker from Bihar and a labourer from Uttar Pradesh were killed in two back-to-back attacks by terrorists in the Srinagar and Pulwama districts, while another was injured in the Kulgam district on Saturday.
Peace in J&K marred with civilian killings
Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha had on Sunday said that he would avenge every drop of “innocent civilians’ blood” by hunting down terrorists and their sympathisers.
Sinha had also said that the attempts are being made to disrupt the peace and socio-economic progress of Jammu and Kashmir and the individual growth of people.
“Our security force will give a befitting reply to terrorists. J&K govt stand by the families in this time of grief,” the LG said.
