In the world of social media, it doesn’t take time for baseless rumours to spread like wildfire. Often celebrities are talked about among fans over their relationship status. Young Indian cricketer Shubman Gill has been subjected to such rumours for a long time, with many talking about him allegedly dating Sara Tendulkar, the daughter of Indian cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar.

During a Q&A session with fans on Instagram, a fan asked Shubman about his relationship status. On being quessed if he was single, Shubman said: “Oh yes! I am. I have no plans of cloning myself in the near future, either.”

The relationship rumours involving Sara and Shubman triggered for the first time when the two interacted on social media and fans started to cook stories.

Despite being just 21 years old, Gill is seen as one of the most technically apt batsmen in Indian cricket. The youngster had started to move up the latter in his career quite early. Having worked hard on the field, Gill has earned plenty of fame. But fame also comes with rumours, especially when it comes to personal life.

Gill looking for upturn in form on the UK tour

The next assignment for the talented top-order batsman is the tour of the United Kingdom where the Indian cricket team will lock horns with New Zealand in the ICC World Test Championship final and engage with England in 5 Tests.

Gill had done well for India on the tour of Australia, scoring 50, 35*, 45 and his career-best of 91 in the four innings. The series against England, however, wasn’t as great for Gill. With the youngster likely to be backed for the entire tour of the UK, a lot will get cleared not just in terms of his immediate future in the Test team but also long term.

With players like Mayank Agarwal, KL Rahul, Prithvi Shaw also looking for opener’s spot, Gill would not want to miss out on the opportunities he is getting.
