Shibani Kashyap has sung hit songs like Sajna Aa Bhi Jaa and Zinda Hoon Main and has floored her with her melodious voice. It is true for Shibani who touched heights after the success of Sajna Aa Bhi Jaa. She had a huge fan following post the success of her song from Waisa Bhi Hota Hai Part 2.
During an exclusive interview with Times Now Digital, the Delhi-based singer spoke about how she had a life filled with zero struggle. The singer-composer revealed that work came to her, without her having to knock on anyone’s door.
“Maybe, it was because my expectations were low, so work came to me as my work was appreciated. It came to me without me knocking on the door, to be honest. One hit after the other. Sometimes they say, this is the flavour of the season. I do not know. I am full of gratitude to god, my fans and all the people who have helped me, to get me this work. One happened which was successful and then would get the second work; then Rohit Shetty sought me. I enjoyed a couple of good years of not knocking on anybody’s door. I don’t think at that point there was a camp system or a club system or a mafia system like as they call it right now,” she said.
The singer further said that the moment she would start knocking on people’s doors, she would not get a response. “If I wanted to work with a particular person and would call them up constantly or the celebrated music directors of that time, I have proved myself. I have got awards, hit songs and the big filmmakers have worked with me as a singer, composer and musician. It did not work. I do not know maybe it is luck”, Shibani said.
She also revealed that she believes in her music and herself, and her fans have been her biggest supporters.
Shibani also said that her initial days were very smooth as there was a low expectation and everything was like a surprise. Whether it was her first jingle on All India Radio FM or be her first pop song Hoh Gayi Hai Mohobbat, whatever first thing she did became a superhit. The singer also revealed that she has been a huge fan of Sanjay Gupta’s work and had a fairytale experience working with him.
