Former New Zealand pacer Simon Doull, who has now turned into a cricket expert and commentator, has been trending on social media these days. He is in Pakistan doing the commentary duties, and recently he criticised Pakistan and Peshawar Zalmi skipper Babar Azam for playing a selfish knock that ultimately cost his side against the Quetta Gladiators. After his comments on Babar caused a big uproar in Pakistan, another video of him is going viral on social media platforms in which he can be heard making a comment about Pakistani pacer Hasan Ali’s wife, who was seen cheering for Islamabad United during the PSL match.
In a video that is spreading like wildfire on social media, the 53-year-old Doull can be seen praising Hasan’s wife Samiyaa Arzoo’s beauty by making a comment on air. The video is from Match No. 24 of the ongoing PSL, which was played between Islamabad United and Multan Sultans on Tuesday (March 7) at the Pindi Club Ground in Rawalpindi.
After Islamabad won a close game against the Sultans by two wickets after chasing down the target of 206 runs in 19.5 overs, Doull was doing commentary, and right when the camera focused on Hassan Ali’s wife Samiyaa Arzoo, Doull was heard saying: “She has won it. She has won a few hearts as well, I believe. That is superb, absolutely stunning. And the victory.”
His fellow commentator could be heard laughing at his comment in the background, but the users on Twitter weren’t impressed by his comment and expressed their anger on social media.
After getting the better of Multan, Islamabad faced defending champions Lahore Qalandars in their ninth league match of the tournament on Thursday (March 9), but they suffered an embarrassing defeat by 119 runs in this match, which dented their hopes of finishing at the top of the points table. They could only manage to score 107 in return for a 226-run total posted by the Shaheen Afridi-led side.
