Shahid Kapoor started his career with Ishq Vishq and after a series of flops, he established himself as a successful actor with his dedication and hard work. Shahid is working non-stop and has been giving back-to-back hit films. Last, Shahid was seen in Kabir Singh, which was a massive hit among the masses. The unique storyline and Shahid’s acting were the highlights of the film. Next, the actor has a Hindi remake of the Tamil film Jersey up for release. In the film, Shahid is seen as a cricketer.

On November 23, 2021, the team of Jersey launched the trailer of the film and at the event, Shahid interacted with the media and answered many questions. During the interaction, Shahid also talked about the success of his last film Kabir Singh. Kabir Singh released in June 2019. Though it was trolled for some of its scenes, overall, the film was a hit.

During the media interaction, Shahid said that after the success of the film, he went to everyone like a beggar as he didn’t know what to do. As per Shahid, he never had such a huge grosser. The actor added, “After Kabir Singh was released, I went like a beggar to everybody. I went to all these people who’ve made these 200-250 crore films. I’ve never been a part of this club, so it was completely new to me. Having spent 15-16 years in the industry, I never had such a huge grosser. So, when it finally happened, I didn’t know where to go, it was all new to me.”

Shahid further added that he tried his best to not do Jersey, which was offered to him before Kabir Singh. He then thanked Gowtam Tinnanuri, the director of Jersey for waiting for him and working with him. The actor has also called Jersey his best film yet.

Director Gowtam Tinnanuri also talked about Shahid and said, “The best thing I’ve done in my career till now is working with Shahid Kapoor. And even after the massive success of Kabir Singh, he didn’t change a bit, was totally into the story and character, and was amazing to work with.”

Jersey is the Hindi remake of a Nani-starrer film with the same name. The original was directed by Goutham and he has also directed the Hindi remake. The film is being produced by Allu Aravind, Dil Raju, and Aman Gill. The film also stars Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Kapur in pivotal roles.
