In the wake of upcoming festivals, Gautam Budh Nagar police have imposed prohibitory orders under section 144 of the CrPC across the district, restricting public gatherings. The prohibitory orders which came into effect on March 1 will remain in force till the end of this month i.e, March 31.
“Section 144 imposed in Gautam Buddh Nagar with immediate effect till March 31 in view to maintain law & order and ensure adherence to COVID rules in view of upcoming festivals,” the Gautam Buddh Nagar Police Commissionerate said, as quoted by ANI.
Section 144 in Noida, Greater Noida: List of Restrictions
- Assembly and gathering of five or more persons prohibited
- Taking out or organising processions is prohibited.
- Bursting of firecrackers is prohibited.
- Use of loudspeakers banned.
- Music bands in a procession are prohibited.
- Social gatherings without permission are prohibited.
- Protests/hunger strikes are prohibited.
Section 144 in Noida, Greater: Action to be Taken Under Section-188 IPC For Violation
Taking to Twitter, the Police Commissionerate of Gautam Buddh Nagar shared the complete order and wrote, “In view of upcoming festivals / Covid-19 protocol, prohibitory order in the district under Section-144 CrPC, applicable from 01.03.2023 to 31.03.2023, in view of security! Action will be taken under Section-188 IPC for violation.”
