While Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer Love Aaj Kal became an instant classic, its spiritual successor featuring Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan completely failed to impress audiences. Opening up about the rom-com’s failure at the box office, Sara shared that even her dad Saif was unhappy with her performance in the film.
Sara Ali Khan on dad Saif’s reaction to 2020’s Love Aaj Kal
When asked about dad Saif Ali Khan’s reaction to her 2020 film Love Aaj Kal’s poor performance, Sara revealed that he was unhappy with her acting in the Imtiaz Ali directorial. “He was not happy. He did not like the performance. He said it was not good,” she revealed in a recent interview.
Directed by Imtiaz Ali, 2020’s Love Aaj Kal featured Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan in lead roles alongside Randeep Hooda and Arushi Sharma. A spiritual successor to the 2009 film of the same name starring Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone, the romantic comedy-drama hit the big screens on February 14, 2020. While the Saif Ali Khan and Deepika Padukone starrer went on to become a cult classic, Kartik Aaryan and Sara Ali Khan’s film received mixed reviews and was anything but a box office success.
