Salman Khan’s upcoming Eid release, Sikandar, is all set to hit cinemas on 30 March. However, ahead of its release, the film has faced scrutiny from the Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC).
However, the film has received a U/A certificate but with minor cuts. Some interesting changes have been made to the film, that have sparked curiosity.
Minor Cuts Ordered By The CBFC
The CBFC has asked the makers to remove the word ‘Home’ from a dialogue that mentioned ‘Home Minister’. So, it will now simply say ‘Minister’. Additionally, a hoarding which featured a political party has been blurred. Apart from all these, no other visual cuts were suggested, that meaning all the high-octane action sequences are remain untouched.
Interestingly, while the official CBFC certificate lists the film’s duration as 150.08 minutes (2 hours, 30 minutes, and 8 seconds), the cinema exhibition certificate shows a reduced runtime of 135.47 minutes. Now, as per Vickey Lalwani’s recent report ,this 15-minute cut was reportedly made by the makers themselves after the CBFC approval. The reason behind this sudden trimming is still unclear, that whether it was a creative decision by director AR Murugadoss, producer Sajid Nadiadwala, or a advice from Salman Khan’s father, Salim Khan
Salman Performed Action Despite Rib Injury
At the trailer launch, Salman revealed that he performed several intense action sequences for Sikandar, even though he was having a rib injury. Director AR Murugadoss reportedly pushed the superstar to complete a 14-hour shift on set.
Salman Talks About Age Difference With Rashmika
When asked about the 31-year age gap between him and Rashmika Mandanna, Salman responded with humour. He said, “I have a 31-year age difference with the heroine. But the heroine doesn’t have a problem, her father doesn’t have a problem. When she gets married and has a child, she will still be a star. We will work with her too — with her permission, of course.”
Despite the changes and cuts, the film is expected to be blockbuster and fans can’t wait as Sikandar is all set to hit theatres on 30 March.
