Salman Khan’s brother-in-law and Arpita Khan’s husband Aayush Sharma’s grandfather Pandit Sukh Ram passed away at the age of 94. Reportedly, Sukh Ram Sharma was admitted to Delhi’s AIIMS hospital after suffering a brain stroke.
Though there has been no official statement on his death by the actor or his family, reportedly, Pandit Sukh Ram Sharma was admitted to the hospital a few days back. However, a couple of days back, several reports suggested that the former Telecom minister and Congress leader from Mandi had passed away.
The reports led his grandson and Bollywood actor Aayush Sharma to issue a statement regarding his health update and squashing all the reports of his grandfather’s death. He said, “My grandfather Pandit Sukh Ram is a strong soul and fighting back bravely.”
Talking about Pandit Sukh Ram Sharma, he was not only a leader from mandi district of Himachal Pradesh but also was the first man to have made the first mobile phone call in India. In 1995, India marked its first ever mobile phone call between the Union Telecom Minister Pandit Sukh Ram Sharma and former West Bengal Chief Minister Jyoti Basu.
Well, to bid a final goodbye to his grandfather, Aayush Sharma’s brother Aashray Sharma took to his Facebook and shared a post dedicated to his grandfather. The heartbreaking note read, “Goodbye grandfather, the phone will not ring now.”
Speaking about Pandit Sukh Ram Sharma, the Union Minister won the Vidhan Sabha elections five times and the Lok Sabha elections thrice. He is the father of politician Anil Sharma.
Pandit Sukh Ram Sharma is survived by his son and two grandsons.
