It is not every time that an actor’s on-screen character is similar to their inherent qualities off it. While several fans do come under the impression that their favourite stars might be somewhat similar to their big-screen roles, many actors have revealed in the past that their on-screen characteristics are sometimes born out of their own experiences. With Salman Khan, that is not always true.
From playing Chulbul Pandey to Bajrangi Bhaijaan, Salman recently revealed that he cannot relate to many of his characters in real life. In fact, he shared if he ever becomes Chulbul Pandey from his super hit film series Dabangg in front of his parents, his dad, Salim Khan (veteran screenwriter), will hit him.
“I can’t walk in front of my parents as Chulbul Pandey. My dad will phatkao [slap] me. So I am a son at home and play these characters on screen. I would be someone like Bajrangi Bhaijaan in real life. I don’t want to take the flirting or the love story back home..neither do I take action scenes at home. I take a bit of the goodness back home,” the actor said in a group interview during the promotions of his upcoming movie, Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai.
The film sees the actor play the role of a police officer, who, through his unconventional methods, is able to put an end to the drug racket in the country. Besides Salman, who plays a cop, Disha Patani is seen as his love interest while Randeep Hooda plays the antagonist.
Radhe: Your Most Wanted Bhai is set to release on May 13, in select theatres and on the pay-per-view platform Zeeplex.
Due to the Covid-19 crisis, Salman had earlier announced that the film would release on Eid 2020 but it was postponed. As the surge in cases has hit the entertainment industry, Salman had also revealed that his sisters Arpita Khan Sharma and Alvira Agnihotri had tested positive for coronavirus.
Besides Radhe, Salman has several projects in the pipeline. He will star in Kabhi Eid Kabhi Diwali opposite Pooja Hegde. He also has Antim: The Final Truth, in which he will play the role of a turbaned cop. The movie will feature his brother-in-law Ayush Sharma as the antagonist.
