Ruckus in Delhi Assembly as BJP MLAs carry oxygen cylinders, wear oxygen masks

A huge ruckus was witnessed in Delhi Assembly  with the ruling Aam Aadmi Party and the BJP locking horns over the rising pollution in the national capital.
BJP MLAs reached the Assembly carrying oxygen cylinders and wearing masks as a mark of protest against the alleged inaction of the AAP government to prevent air pollution.
The three-day session of the Delhi assembly began on Monday.
The protesting legislators said that Delhi has turned into the most polluted city in the world as per WHO report.
“With a gas cylinder in tow, I would raise the voice of Delhi’s 2 crore people who have been forced to live in a gas chamber, in the Delhi assembly. The AAP government must come clean on what they have done to make Delhi pollution-free,” BJP MLA Vijendra Gupta said.
Speaker Ram Niwas Goel asked the BJP members to take the cylinders away and questioned how they brought them into the House despite the security.
The Assembly was later adjourned after AAP and BJP members exchanged barbs over the alleged interference of Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena in the working of the Arvind Kejriwal-led government.
Meanwhile, Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) said that restrictions imposed under Graded Response Action Plan’s (GRAP) Stage III have been withdrawn from Delhi-NCR after marginal improvement in the city’s air quality, PTI reported.
