RTI activist Uma Shankar heckled and smeared with black paint by a pro-Kannada worker in Bengaluru

An RTI activist, Uma Shankar was heckled and smeared with black paint by a pro-Kannada worker and his aides in the Chikpet area of Bengaluru . The accused has been identified as Srinivas.
The video of the incident also surfaced online. In the video, it could be seen that Shankar and Srinvas were arguing. One of the aides of Srinivas handed a bottle of black ink to him. He poured the entire black paint on the RTI activist and also blackened his face.
Srinivas also manhandled Shankar. The accused tore the clothes of the RTI activists. Notably, nobody came forward to rescue Shankar. Notably, the incident took place in a busy market area.
According to reports, an argument was initiated by the pro-Kannada worker after Shankar complained to the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) about an illegal flag post built that hoisted the Kannada flag.
An FIR has been registered by the Karnataka Police. Cops have launched a detailed investigation into the matter.
