RRR meets The Elephant Whisperers: MM Keeravani, Guneet Monga, Chandrabose are all smiles at Oscars 2023 luncheon

With the 95th Oscars right around the corner, nominees for the coveted event were invited to an extravagant luncheon on February 13 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel. Marked as the unofficial kickoff to the second phase of Oscar campaigning, numerous famed celebrities including Oscar winning director Steven Spielberg, Justin Hurwitz, Tom Cruise, Michelle Williams, Diane Warren, Brandon Fraser, Hong Chau, Austin Butler, Ke Huy Quan and Paul Mescal attended the event. India’s Guneet Monga, M. M. Keeravani, Chandrabose and Shaunak Sen also marked their presence at the star-studded event.

Taking to Twitter, The Elephant Whisperers’ Guneet Monga dropped a bunch of insider pics from the luncheon. Posing with Naatu Naatu composer M. M. Keeravani and lyricist Chandrabose, the trio were all smiles as they marked India’s presence at the prestigious luncheon.

Held at the Beverly Hilton Hotel on Monday, the luncheon was nothing short of extravagant with its stunning décor and a two-course menu. The star-studded event’s menu featured a harvest salad, king oyster mushroom scallops, wild mushroom risotto, roasted Brussels sprouts, baby carrots and pea tendrils along with some opera cake, ganache and fresh berries for desert.
This time around, not just one, but three Indian movies are competing for the coveted Oscars Awards! While SS Rajamouli’s directorial film RRR has been nominated in the Best Original Song for the hit track Naatu Naatu, Shaunak Sen’s All That Breathes and Guneet Monga’s The Elephant Whisperers have been nominated for the Best Documentary Feature Film and Best Documentary Short, respectively.
While India’s official entry to the Oscars, Chello Show, had made the first cut, it unfortunately couldn’t make it through the final cut in the Best International Feature Film category. The Oscars 2023 will be held on March 12.
